This isn’t your father’s (or even your older brother’s) Pine Wood Derby race. This race will be beamed across the Council for all of your friends and relatives to see. There is a class of cars for everyone….from a class especially for Scouts up to 4th grade all the way to a class for experienced high school mechanics and designers. Winners in each class will be chosen for the best design and, of course, fastest car, (placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd).
Prizes and trophies are on the line for each class. Take a look at the table to see whether you can step up to this challenge!
Cars MUST be dropped off inside the front office area at the Council Office by no later than April 7. Cars will be inspected in relation to their respected class(s). Any cars that do not pass inspection will be notified immediately to make any corrections as necessary. Avengers Class will be streamed at 10:00am over the Council’s Facebook Page @hawkeyebsa.

1. Track length will be 80 feet of level outdoors pavement
2. Maximum vehicle width = 6 inches
3. Maximum height of car and any attachments is 10 inches
4. Car will be attached to an overhead guide wire. Car must use the attachments shown in the picture below

When dropping off the cars at the Scout Office, we ask that you place your car in a ziplock bag with name & unit#.
